The Els Club, Dubai

The Els Club Golf course is situated within the developing Dubai Sports City area in Dubai, UAE. The 18 hole, 7,538 Yard, Par 73, golf course was designed by Ernie Els and was officially opened in 2008.

With four sets of tees allowing players a selection of differing lengths from which to play, The Els Club Dubai, is to set a new benchmark for golf in Dubai from March 2008. The course will offer players a challenging round accompanied by all the essential facilities that extend beyond the immaculate fairways and greens.

The Els Club has it all, a fantastic scoreable golf course, some of the very best practice facilities in Dubai with the Butch Harmon Golf Academy to boot, alongside a very golf specific clubhouse with some excellent food and hospitability.

The course is always in fabulous condition with some very tight fairways and surrounds to keep you on your toes, do you have the bottle to chip using your lofted wedges or is it safer to putt from off the green or use less loft. The greens are very quick and slopey, so finding the right section is extremely important to give yourself a chance to hole a putt. There is a great range of diffcicult and easier holes, with a couple of Par 5's very reachable for distance but lots of hazards to catch you out if your ball strays. The course also has what it calls 'The Lion's Den', a 3 hole consecutive run of holes which includes the Long Par 4 9th hole heading back to the clubhouse with a raised green, a another long dog leg right par 4 on the 10th hole with one if the narrowest greens I have ever played, finally a testing uphill par 3 11th hole where a par really feel likes a birdie.
